তবে কতটুকুই আর চেপে রাখা যায়। ঠিকই গণমাধ্যমের নজরে পড়ে যায় তাদের এ সম্পর্ক। প্রথম তাদের একসঙ্গে দেখা যায় গত বছরের আগস্টে নিউইয়র্ক সিটিতে এক হোটেলে, একই বছরের অক্টোবরে লস অ্যাঞ্জেলেসে তারা ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে রাতের ভোজে অংশ নেন এবং এরপর নভেম্বরে কলেজছাত্রদের কাছে হিলারির পক্ষে ভোট চাইতে যান তারা। এর পর মাত্র এক বছরের মাথায় আলাদা হয়ে গেলেন তারা।  

লরেন্সের অবশ্য এটাই প্রথম প্রেম নয়। এর আগে তিনি ব্রিটিশ অভিনেতা নিকোলাস হল্ট ও কোল্ডপ্লের ক্রিস মার্টিনের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কে জড়িয়েছিলেন।
