তাদের দাবি, সানির এই অনুষ্ঠান নাকি কন্নড় সংস্কৃতি বিরোধী। এমনকি অনুষ্ঠানটি বাতিলের দাবি তুলে বিক্ষোভ শুরু হয়েছে। সেই দাবি মানা না হলে ফল ভালো হবে না বলেও জানিয়ে দিয়েছে রক্ষণা বৈদিক যুবসেনা।
জানা গেছে, সম্পূর্ণ ব্যক্তিগতভাবে অনুষ্ঠানটি আয়োজন করেছে এক সংস্থা। সানির এই অনুষ্ঠানের পোস্টার প্রকাশের পর থেকেই অনুষ্ঠান বন্ধের দাবি তোলে যুবসেনা। এমনকি সানিকে কর্নাটকে প্রবেশের অনুমতি পর্যন্ত দিতে চায় না তারা।
বৈদিক সেনার এক সদস্য বলেন, ‘সানি লিওন আমাদের সংস্কৃতি জানেন না। তাকে কেন এই অনুষ্ঠানে আনা হচ্ছে।
উনি এখানে এসে আমাদের সংস্কৃতিকে নষ্ট করতে পারে। আমাদের সংস্কৃতিকে কেউ আঘাত করুক আমরা তা হতে দেব না। ’
