যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ১২টি সিনেমা হলে মুক্তি পাচ্ছে লাক্স তারকা মুমতাহিনা চৌধুরী টয়ার প্রথম ছবি ‘বেঙ্গলি বিউটি’। এটি পরিচালনা করছেন প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশি রাহশান নূর। ১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি ছবিটি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে মুক্তি পাচ্ছে। ছবিটির প্রযোজনা করেছেন রাফি তামজিদ। দেশেও ছবিটি মুক্তি দেয়ার প্রস্তুতি নেয়া হচ্ছে।
টয়া বলেন, আমার প্রথম চলচ্চিত্র দেশের বাইরে মুক্তি পাচ্ছে- এটি আমার জন্য অনেক আনন্দের। আমাদের চলচ্চিত্র এখন দেশের সীমানা পেরিয়ে আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে প্রদর্শন হচ্ছে।আমি এই ছবিটি নিয়ে অনেক বেশি আশাবাদী।
ছবিটি নিয়ে টয়া আরও বলেন, গতানুগতিক ছবির চেয়ে ‘বেঙ্গলি বিউটি’ আলাদা। পুরনো দিনের সুন্দর একটি প্রেমের গল্পের ছবি এটি। সত্তর দশকের একজন মেডিকেল ছাত্রীর চরিত্রে দর্শক আমাকে দেখতে পাবেন। এই চরিত্রে নিজেকে তৈরি করতে তখনকার বহু ছবি দেখতে হয়েছে। তখনকার মেয়েরা কী ধরনের পোশাক পরতেন, কীভাবে কথা বলতেন সব আয়ত্ত করেছি।
