১) ফায়ার: ১৯৯৬ সালে শাবানা আজমি এবং নন্দিতা দাস অভিনীত, দীপা মেহতা পরিচালিত এই ছবিটিকে নিষিদ্ধ করেছিল সেন্সর বোর্ড। এই সিনেমায় ভারতীয় হিন্দু পরিবারের দুই সমকামী মহিলার চরিত্র তুলে ধরা হয়েছিল, যাকে ঘিরে সামলোচনার ঝড় বয়ে গিয়েছিল৷ ১৯৯৮-এ মুক্তির ছাড়পত্র পায় ছবিটি তবে ‘এ’ রেটিং দিয়ে। তবে সীতা চরিত্রের নাম নীতা দেওয়ার নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়।

২) পাঁচ: অনুরাগ কাশ্যপ পরিচালিত পাঁচ ছবিটি ১৯৯৭ সালে যোশী-অভয়ঙ্কর সিরিয়াল মার্ডারের ঘটনার প্রেক্ষাপটে নির্মিত হয়েছিল। তবে এতে অতিরিক্ত হিংসা, ড্রাগ এবং অশ্রাব্য ভাষার ব্যবহারের জন্য নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষণা করে সেন্সর বোর্ড। ২০০১ সালে ছবির বেশ কিছু দৃশ্য বাদ পড়লেও শেষ পর্যন্ত মুক্তি পায়নি ছবিটি। তবে বিদেশে কয়েকটি চলচ্চিত্র উৎসবে প্রদর্শিত হয়েছিল পাঁচ।
৩) দ্য ব্যানডিট কুইন : শেখর কাপুরের পরিচালনায় এই ছবির গল্পে ফুলন দেবীর জীবন তুলে ধরা হয়। ছবির দৃশ্যে সেক্সুয়্যাল কনটেন্ট, নগ্নতা এবং কিছু অশ্রাব্য ভাষার ব্যবহারের জন্য দ্য ব্যানডিট কুইনের মতো একটি ছবিকে সেন্সর বোর্ড নিষিদ্ধ করে। ছবির ঝুলিতে বেশ কিছু পুরস্কার এলেও, শোনা যায় ফুলন দেবী নাকি অভিযোগ করেছিলেন, তার জীবনের বেশ কিছু গুরুত্বপুর্ণ তথ্য বিকৃত করা হয়েছে এই ছবিতে।
৪) সিনস: বিনোদ পান্ডের পরিচালনা এবং প্রযোজনায় তৈরি সিনস্ ছবিটি ২০০৫ সালের অত্যন্ত বিতর্কিত একটি ছবি। এক যুবতীর সঙ্গে যৌনসম্পর্কে জড়িয়ে পড়েন কেরলের এক পাদ্রি যে সম্পর্ককে তিনি গোপন রাখতে চেয়েছিলেন। সিনেমায় বিষয়বস্তু এবং নগ্নতা প্রদর্শনের জন্য ‘সিনস’কে নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষণা করে সেন্সর বোর্ড।
৫) কামসূত্র, আ টেল অব লভ : মীরা নায়ার পরিচালিত এই ছবিটির বিষয়বস্তুত ছিল যৌনতানির্ভর। তবে এই ছবিটিকে নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষণা করেছিল সেন্সর বোর্ড।
৬) ওয়াটার : দীপা মেহতা পরিচালিত এই ছবিতে ১৯৩৮সালে বেনারসের কিছু আশ্রমের বিধবা মহিলাদের অসহায়তার ছবি ফুটিয়ে তোলা হয়। কিন্তু হিন্দুত্ববাদী সংগঠনগুলি এই ছবির বিষয়বস্তু নিয়ে প্রতিবাদ জানায় এবং সিনেমার সেটও নাকি নষ্ট করে দেয়।
৭) পারজানিয়া : রাহুল ঢোলাকিয়া পরিচালিত এই ছবির ঝুলিতেও উঠে এসেছে বহু পুরস্কার। এই ছবিটি ২০০২ সালের গুজরাট দাঙ্গার প্রেক্ষাপটে নির্মিত হয়েছিল। দু’টি ন্যাশনাল অ্যাওয়ার্ড পেলেও গুজরাট সরকার সিনেমাটির স্ক্রিনিং নিষিদ্ধ করে বলে শোনা যায়।
৮) ব্ল্যাক ফ্রাইডে : ১৯৯৩ সালে মুম্বাইয়ের ধারাবাহিক বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনা তুলে ধরা হয়েছিল অনুরাগ কাশ্যপের এই ডকুফিচারে। দুই বছর নিষেধাজ্ঞার জারি থাকার পরে সিনেমাটি মুক্তি পায়।
৯) লিপস্টিক আন্ডার মাই বোরখা : অলঙ্কৃতা শ্রীবাস্তবের এই ব্ল্যাক কমেডি-টি ফিল্ম সার্টিফিকেশন বোর্ড সেন্সরে আটকানোর কারণ হিসেবে বলা হয়, ছবিটি ‘নারী-মুখী’ এবং সেখানে ‘যৌন দৃশ্য এবং গালিগালাজ রয়েছে। ‘অডিও পর্নোগ্রাফি’ও রয়েছে বলেও অভিযোগ ওঠে এই ছবির বিরুদ্ধে৷ তবে বহু চলচ্চিত্র উৎসবে এই ছবিটি প্রদর্শিত হয় এবং ভূয়সী প্রশংসাও অর্জন করে অলঙ্কৃতার এই প্রয়াস।
