The 53-year-old actress is going to honor the French Lumiere Academy. Originally, Baluchi will be given this special award to contribute to the French film.
On this occasion, Lumiere Academy announced that he will be honored as the "Special Guest" at the 23rd Lumiai Prize Distribution ceremony. John Paul Belmondo, another legend of the French film, received the award along with him in the ceremony.

এ উপলক্ষে আগামী ৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২৩তম লুমিয়ের পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে তাকে ‘বিশেষ অতিথি’ হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেছে লুমিয়ের একাডেমি। তার সঙ্গে ওই অনুষ্ঠানে সম্মাননা পাচ্ছেন ফরাসি চলচ্চিত্রের আরেক কিংবদন্তি জন পল বেলমন্ডো।
মনিকা তার অভিনয় জীবন শুরু করেছিলেন ১৯৯০ সালে নিজের দেশ ইতালির এক টিভি সিরিজে। এর কিছুদিন পরই তিনি আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে কাজ শুরু করেন। ১৯৯২ সালে তিনি ‘ব্রাম স্টোকারস ড্রাকুলা’র মাধ্যমে প্রথম আন্তর্জাতিক অঙ্গনে পা রাখেন।
মনিকা বেশকিছু ফরাসি প্রযোজনার ছবিতে কাজ করেছিলেন। এর মধ্যে ‘অ্যাসটেরিক্স অ্যান্ড ওবেলিস্ক: মিশন ক্লিওপেট্রা’তে ক্লিওপেট্রার ভূমিকায় ছিলেন, ভিনসেন্ট ক্যাসেলের সঙ্গে ‘দ্য অ্যাপার্টমেন্ট’ ও গ্যাসপার নুয়ের ‘ইরেভারসিবল’ ছবিতে কাজ করেছেন। যদিও লুমিয়ের পুরস্কার যারা ফরাসি ছবিতে অবদান রেখেছেন তাদেরকে দেয়ার কথা, তারপরও মনিকাকে তার আন্তর্জাতিক কাজের জন্যও একাডেমির পক্ষ থেকে এ সম্মাননা দেয়া হচ্ছে।
অন্যদিকে ফরাসি ছবির জীবন্ত কিংবদন্তি জন পল বেলমন্ডো অভিনয়ে আসেন পঞ্চাশের দশকের মাঝামাঝিতে। ১৯৫৭ সালে তার অভিনীত প্রথম ছবি ‘অন ফুট, অন হর্স অ্যান্ড হুইলস’ ছবিটি মুক্তি পায়। আন্তর্জাতিক ক্ষেত্রেও তিনি কাজ করেছেন।
উল্লেখ্য, ১৯৯৫ সাল থেকে লুমিয়ের পুরস্কারের যাত্রা শুরু হয়। ফরাসি চলচ্চিত্রে এটিকে গোল্ডেন গ্লোবের সমতুল্য বলে মনে করা হয়।
