Kajal further said, 'We work in a field where my one day absence can damage millions of rupees. Due to the cancellation of my shooting, one family member may have to starve. So I shoot with illness.

But in the whole 25 years, he just canceled a photo shooting. That's not for myself. Kajol's daughter, Nisha, had a lot of fever, the temperature was up 104. He told the producer directly that he could not come to work. That one day. Without thinking too much, Kajal could not remember his absence.

ভারতীয় গণমাধ্যমে সম্প্রতি এক সাক্ষাৎকারে কাজল জানান, ২৫ বছরের অভিনয় জীবনে কোনো দিনই তিনি শুটিংয়ে অনুপস্থিত ছিলেন না (এক দিন ছাড়া)। তাঁর অনুপস্থিতির কারণে প্রযোজক-পরিচালকদের কখনো শুটিং বাতিল করতে হয়নি।

কাজল আরও জানান, ‘আমরা এমন একটা ক্ষেত্রে কাজ করি, যেখানে আমার এক দিনের অনুপস্থিতি কারও লাখ লাখ টাকার ক্ষতি করে দিতে পারে। আমার শুটিং বাতিল করার কারণে কোনো এক পরিবারের সদস্যদের হয়তো অনাহারে থাকতে হতে পারে। তাই আমি অসুস্থতা নিয়েও শুটিং করি।

জানি, এটা নিজের জন্য ক্ষতিকর। কিন্তু এরপরও আমার একজনের জন্য এতগুলো মানুষের ক্ষতি করতে চাই না। ’
তবে পুরো ২৫ বছরে মাত্র একবার একটি ছবির শুটিং তিনি বাতিল করেছিলেন। সেটাও নিজের জন্য না। কাজলের মেয়ে নাইসার সেদিন অনেক জ্বর ছিল, গায়ের তাপমাত্রা ১০৪ ছাড়িয়ে গিয়েছিল। তখন সরাসরি প্রযোজককে জানিয়েছিলেন যে কাজে আসতে পারছেন না তিনি। সেই একটি দিনই। এর বাইরে খুব মনে করেও কাজল তাঁর কোনো অনুপস্থিতির কথা মনে করতে পারলেন না।
