২০১৭ সালে ব্যস্ত এক বছর কাটিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট। এ বছরও বাংলাদেশের অপেক্ষায় ব্যস্ত সূচি। বাংলাদেশের সামনে আবারও বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ। বিদেশের মাটিতে সামর্থ্যের কঠিন পরীক্ষা দিতে হবে ২০১৮ সালেও।
জানুয়ারি-ফেব্রুয়ারিতে দেশের মাঠে খেলে টানা চারটা সিরিজ-টুর্নামেন্ট খেলতে হতে পারে বিদেশে। বাংলাদেশ দলের বছরটা শেষ হবে আবার দেশের মাটিতেই। নভেম্বরে পূর্ণাঙ্গ সিরিজ খেলতে বাংলাদেশে আসার কথা ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ দলের। আগামী জানুয়ারিতে আবারও বাংলাদেশে আসবে জিম্বাবুয়ে।
আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটের মতো বাংলাদেশের ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের সূচি নিয়ে নির্দিষ্ট কিছু বলা কঠিন। নানা কারণে হুটহাট পাল্টে যায় সূচি। এখন পর্যন্ত ক্রিকেট কমিটি অব ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিস (সিসিডিএম), বিসিবির ক্রিকেট পরিচালনা বিভাগ ও টুর্নামেন্ট কমিটির সম্ভাব্য সূচি অনুযায়ী জানুয়ারিতে হওয়ার কথা বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট লিগ (বিসিএল)। ফেব্রুয়ারিতে ঢাকা প্রিমিয়ার লিগ। আর অক্টোবর-নভেম্বরে টি-টোয়েন্টি টুর্নামেন্ট বিপিএল। ২০১৭ সালে জাতীয় লিগ শুরু হয়েছে সেপ্টেম্বরে, শেষ হয়েছে ডিসেম্বরে। ২০১৮ সালেও হয়তো একই সময় অনুসরণ করবে জাতীয় লিগ।
