বিজ্ঞানীদের দাবি,  প্রথম দর্শনে প্রেম নিয়ে অভিজ্ঞতার কথা জানিয়েছেন ৩২ জন অংশগ্রহণকারী। তা থেকেই বিজ্ঞানীদের ধারণা হয়েছে, অপর দিকের ব্যক্তিটির শারীরিক আকর্ষণ যত বেশি, তাঁকে তত বেশি পছন্দ হয়েছে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের। যা আসলে প্রেম নয়।
উল্লেখযোগ্য বিষয়, সমীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণকারীদের মধ্যে প্রেমিক বা প্রেমিকারাও ছিলেন। তাঁদের অনেকেরই বিশ্বাস, প্রথম দর্শনেই প্রেমে পড়েছেন। সমীক্ষায় দেখা গিয়েছে, যাঁরা বলছেন বাস্তব জীবনে প্রথম দর্শনেই প্রেমে পড়েছেন, তাঁদের সম্পর্কে প্যাশন অনেক বেশি।
