গনোরিয়া কী?
নেইসেরিয়া গনোরিয়া নামক এক ধরনের ব্যাকটেরিয়ার কারণে এই রোগটি হয়। সুরক্ষা ছাড়া যৌন সম্পর্ক বা ওরাল ও অ্যানাল সেক্সের কারণে গনোরিয়া ছড়িয়ে যেতে পারে। এই রোগটির লক্ষণগুলি হল- যৌনাঙ্গ থেকে হলুদ বা সবুজ রঙের পুঁজের মতো বের হতে পারে, প্রস্রাবের সময় জ্বালাপোড়া হতে পারে বা প্রস্রাব বন্ধও হয়ে যেতে পারে৷ নারীদের তলপেটে ব্যথা ও ঋতুস্রাবে জটিলতাও দেখা দিতে পারে। কিন্তু এই রোগে আক্রান্ত পুরুষদের মধ্যে প্রতি ১০ জনে একজন ও নারীদের তিন চতুর্থাংশ এবং সমকামী পুরুষদের ক্ষেত্রে এ রোগের লক্ষণ সহজে শনাক্ত করা যায় না। আর এই রোগ যদি না সারে তাহলে তা বন্ধ্যাত্বের কারণও হতে পারে। গর্ভাবস্থায় এ রোগ সংক্রমণের শিকার হলে তা শিশুর শরীরেও ছড়িয়ে পড়তে পারে । বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা বলছে, গনোরিয়া রোগটি আরও বিপদজনক হয়ে ওঠা ঠেকানোর জন্য দেশে দেশে পর্যবেক্ষণ জোরদারের পাশাপাশি নতুন ওষুধ তৈরির গবেষণায় বিনিয়োগ বাড়াতে হবে। ‘ওরাল সেক্স’ গনোরিয়ার জীবাণুকে এন্টিবায়োটিক প্রতিরোধী ভয়ঙ্কর মাত্রায় নিয়ে যাচ্ছে বলে সতর্ক করেছে বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা।
