অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বিশেষজ্ঞ ডা. মাহিব থমাস জানিয়েছেন, ‘শারীরিক মিলনের সময় বেশি চুম্বন করে থাকেন যুগলরা। এর থেকেই এইচপিভি দুজনের মধ্যে স্থানান্তরিত হাওয়ার আশঙ্কা বেশি রয়েছে।’

সাধারণ মানুষের তুলনায় এইচপিভি আক্রান্তদের বেশি ক্যান্সার হওয়ার ঝুঁকি থাকে।

বিশেষজ্ঞরা এইচপিভি ভাইরাসকে সাধারণভাবে জরায়ু মুখের (সার্ভিক্যাল) ক্যান্সারের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কযুক্ত বলে জানিয়েছেন। এর প্রভাবে নারী-পুরুষ উভয়েই রোগে আক্রান্ত হতে পারেন।
