ভারতের রাজস্থানের কিরারুতে অবস্থিত অভিশপ্ত মন্দিরটি। কথিত আছে, সারারাত এই মন্দির চত্বরে থাকা মানেই মৃত্যু অনিবার্য! কেননা এখানে মানুষ পাথর হয়ে যায়।

যদিও ভারতের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে আছে হিন্দু মন্দির। এই সমস্ত মন্দিরকে ঘিরেই রয়েছে বেশ কিছু অকথিত কাহিনী। যেগুলি কাহিনী হিসেবেই রয়েছে। সত্য কী না সেই বিষয়ে এখনো কোনো প্রমাণ মেলেনি।  
তবে এই সমস্ত মন্দিরকে ঘিরে যা কথিত রয়েছে সেই সমস্ত ঘটনা একেবারে হাড়হিম করা। এই সমস্ত ঘটনার সত্যতা যাচাই করারও কেউ চেষ্টা করেন না। তেমনই একটি মন্দির রয়েছে রাজস্থানে যাকে ঘিরে জড়িয়ে রয়েছে একটি অবিশ্বাস্য কাহিনী। বলা হয়, এই অভিশপ্ত কিরারু মন্দিরে যদি কেউ সারারাত থাকেন তাহলে অভিশাপে পাথর হয়ে যাবে সেই ব্যক্তি। রাজস্থানের বাঢ়মের জেলায় এই মন্দিরটি অবস্থিত।

শহরের নামেই মন্দিরের নামকরণ। তবে, একটি মন্দির নয়। সাতটি মন্দির রয়েছে এই জায়গায়। এই মন্দিরকে ঘিরেই জড়িয়ে রয়েছে এই অবিশ্বাস্য কাহিনী। থর মরুভূমিতে অবস্থিত এই মন্দিরটি। এই সাতটি মন্দিরের মধ্যে দুটি মন্দিরের অবস্থা একেবারেই ভগ্নপ্রায়৷ জয়সলমীর থেকে মাত্র ১৫৭কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত এই মন্দিরটি। মানুষ পাথরে পরিণত হওয়ার বিষয়টি আদৌ সত্যি কিনা সেটি যাচাই করে দেখারও সাহস দেখান না কেউ। সূত্র: কলকাতা টুয়েন্টিফোর।
