প্রেসিডেন্ট ট্রাম্পের উপদেষ্টাদের মধ্যে ইভাঙ্কাই সবচেয়ে প্রভাবশালী। তাই হোয়াইট হাউজে ইভাঙ্কা ট্রাম্প একটি অত্যন্ত ক্ষমতাশালী নাম। ভারত-মার্কিন দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্কের বিষয়েও ইভাঙ্কার মতামত তাই অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মার্কিন প্রশাসনের কাছে।

প্রধানমন্ত্রী মোদী, মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্টের সিনিয়র অ্যাডভাইসর ইভাঙ্কা এবং তেলঙ্গানার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কে চন্দ্রশেখর রাও একসঙ্গে উদ্বোধন করেন জিইএস-২০১৭-র। ইভাঙ্কা নিজের ভাষণে বলেন, ‘‘ভারতের মানুষ আমাদের অনুপ্রাণিত করে।’’ তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি ক্ষেত্রে ভারতের দ্রুত অগ্রগতির প্রশংসা করতে গিয়ে ইভাঙ্কা বলেন, ‘‘তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি ক্ষেত্রে যে ভারতীয় শিল্পদ্যোগীরা রয়েছেন, তাঁরা ভারতের প্রসিদ্ধ বিরিয়ানির খ্যাতিকেও হারিয়ে দিতে পারেন।’’
নিজের ভাষণে ভারতের প্রশংসার পাশাপাশি মজবুত ভারত-মার্কিন মৈত্রীর বার্তাও দিয়েছেন ইভাঙ্কা ট্রাম্প। ইঙ্গিতপূর্ণ ভাবে ইভাঙ্কা বলেছেন, ‘‘হোয়াইট হাউজে ভারতের একজন সত্যিকারের বন্ধু রয়েছেন।’’ ইভাঙ্কার ইঙ্গিত যে তাঁর বাবা তথা আমেরিকার প্রেসিডেন্ট ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্পের দিকেই, তা স্পষ্ট। ‘‘প্রধানমন্ত্রী মোদীর তত্ত্বাবধানে ভারত অত্যন্ত দ্রুত এগোবে’’, মন্তব্য ইভাঙ্কা ট্রাম্পের।
